VIP Casino Tours: I have just returned from Batumi (my third visit) and the casino boom continues. Currently there are 12 casinos in the city, with Maximus Casino the next to open, circa mid-February 2024. There maybe 18-20 casinos when the building boom hits the limit.

All casinos operate in US Dollars which is freely changable in the Batumi. I have never seen so many money exchange shops, and almost all operate with half to one percent spreads. e.g. Buy/Sell Georgian Lari at 2.67-2.68 to the Dollar. All the casinos offer buy/sell rates with no spread or commission deductions.

The Bad News: Batumi is a tourist resort located on the Black Sea, and is seasonal. Flight connections up until April are not good, to say the least. However, when tourist numbers increase the airlines do add extra flights. The main route into Batumi is via Istanbul. For serious casino players I would recommend April - June, and September onwards as the tourists hit peak numbers in July and August.

For qualifying players a deposit US$10,000 is required. Average bets of $100 and up to $500 air fare rebate are usually offered.
